Sunday Soul: YOU are enough!
Happy Sunday, ya'll,
This week I'm going to let one of my teachers drop some soul on you. This is a quote by Marianne Williamson from her book, A Return to Love.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Even if you've heard this quote before, read it again. And then one more time.
Imagine how the world might be different if everyone felt empowered. What injustice could we avoid?
What if you walked through each moment knowing that you are enough. What violence might we spare ourselves?
What if we all lived each day to serve our highest purpose? Can you imagine the problems we could solve?
What if we allowed ourselves to shine and resisted the temptation to judge and tear down those we fear are outshining us? Who might feel more loved and less bullied?
Your power is great. You are enough. And baby, you were born to shine.
Sending you much love this summer Sunday.
