3 Ways to Feel More Confident Now

Is “be more confident” one of your New Year’s resolutions?

Ah… confidence. So elusive and mysterious. How do those effortlessly confident women pull it off?

It’s not as easy as it looks for some ladies out there. Sure, there is that group that came into this world with their heads held high, ready to take on the world, but some of us needed a little coaching along the way.

One thing’s for sure; confident women do not overdo these three things, according to My Domaine: obsess, compare or people-please.


In the spirit of “new year, new me”, I’m going to give you three easy ways you can stop doing those three things right now. Let’s take it one at a time, shall we?

STOP Obsessing.

Do you get caught up in the feedback of others, both good and bad? STOP. Confident ladies simply don’t waste precious time lamenting on what others think. They’re too busy building a life so strong and self-possessed that those opinions simply don’t matter.

TO DO: Make a list of everything in your life you can actually control. The other stuff, like those outside opinions, will not be on this list.

STOP Comparing.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Why are you ripping away your own joy, girl? If you get caught up in the perfection of others scrolling through perfect Pins and Instas, it’s going to leave you feeling pretty down on yourself.

TO DO: Ditch the “highlight reel”. Put down your phone and embrace your own imperfections and realness. Go back to that list you made of things you can control, and start working on bettering yourself in a real way.  

STOP People-Pleasing.

Okay, pleasing the people around you is nice and all, but are you overdoing it? Even worse, are you people-pleasing so much that your own happiness and health are suffering? STOP doing that! Here’s a truth-bomb for your: chances are, these people that you’re breaking your back to please never asked you to overexert yourself.

TO DO: Book a “me” day for yourself. Treat yourself to a spa day, go shopping or simply plop yourself on the couch and binge watch a TV show. Whatever refuels YOU.
