3 tips on getting your kids to open up to you

Raise your hand if you've had this conversation with your kids before:

"How was your day today?" Fine.
"What did you do at school?" Nothing.    

If your failed attempts at connecting with your family are weighing you down, it might be time to reconsider how you communicate. Put yourself in your kids' shoes. They've just spent all day at school and it's probably the last thing they want to talk about.

Even if you don't want to chat about the latest video game they're playing, you might just have to tough it out if you really want them to open up to you.
